Above you will see just a small selection of some of the excellent work Year 5 have been producing at home. What superstars!
Welcome to Year 5
Our delightful Year 5 cohort is divided into three classes: Edinburgh, Dublin and Sheffield.
The Year 5 teachers are: Mr Bland, Mrs. Waite, Miss Armstrong, Mrs. Roberts and Mr. Wood.
The Year 5 support staff are: Miss Clark, Mr. Hill and Mrs. Ault.
We’ve missed having our whole classes together, and seeing their happy, smiling faces every morning.
We have planned some very exciting lessons, themed days and events to support their learning up until we break up for summer, and we can’t wait to get stuck in!
For the remaining four weeks of the Spring Term, we shall continue with our ‘Journeys’ topic which is all about Space. After Easter, our new topic will be ‘Origins: Victorian Langley Mill’.
When they return on Monday, you’ll be pleased to know that we have reverted back to having TWO PE lessons per week.
PE days are as follows:
Dublin: Monday and Wednesday
Edinburgh: Monday and Friday
Sheffield: Wednesday and Friday
A reminder about uniform and PE Kit: We know that some of the children will have grown and without all the shops open there may be some challenges with providing correct full uniform at the moment. We understand this but can we please ask that you ensure your child’s uniform is as close to normal as possible. You may want to layer up under the jumpers on colder days as again, we will have the windows open for ventilation. We do have some spare clean, pre-loved uniform in school. If you could make use of this uniform, please contact Mrs Naylor.
Our uniform is:
Black or grey trousers, skirts or pinafores.
White or royal blue polo shirt or shirt.
Royal blue cardigan, jumper or fleece.
Hair tied up.
Black, navy or grey shorts or joggers weather dependent.
White plain t-shirt
Trainers that support your child’s feet for sport.
No jewellery on PE days please.
Many thanks once again for your unfaltering support,
The Year 5 Team.

With a renewed and passionate understanding of the importance of teaching children about relationships, health (including mental health), and social skills, we teach RSHE twice a week, and it also interlaces within most of our other subjects, class novels and class assemblies. We want all of our children to be happy, confident, well-rounded individuals.
